Cultural Passport Series: An Evening at the Gregg
Members Preview: Design by Time and All that Glitters
Thursday, January 23 at 5:30pm
RSVP is required for this event.
Contact: greggmembership@ncsu.edu
Friends of the Gregg members are invited to privately tour our two exhibitions opening next week before they open to the public. From the Pratt Manhattan Gallery comes Design by Time, an exhibition with work from 22 international designers portraying time and its dynamic effects on fashion, furniture, textiles, vessels, and more. During the preview, members will have the opportunity to explore this exhibition with its co-curator Judith Hoos Fox of c2 curatorsquared.
All that Glitters—Spark and Dazzle from the Permanent Collection, showcases some of the most visually stunning objects from the Gregg’s collection, and uses them as points of departure to probe some of the deeper cultural, psychological, and even evolutionary impulses that may have brought about their creation in the first place. Director Roger Manley will guide members through this exhibition during the preview.
Friends of the Gregg are encouraged to join the public for the opening reception that begins promptly following the members preview. If you have any questions, please reach out to Kristin Hartzell at greggmembership@ncsu.edu

Cultural Passport Series: J. C. Raulston Arboretum’s Moonlight in the Garden
Tuesday, November 5, 2019 – 7:00 pm–9:00 pm
We’re excited to announce that the Cultural Passport series is back! This special partnership brings together Friends of the Gregg, Friends of the Library, Friends of the Arboretum, and College of Veterinary Medicine to celebrate and share their passions for art, literature, nature, animals and science!
Be one of the first to see this year’s creative installation of Moonlight in the Garden! Your senses will be delighted when the gates open on this crisp November evening.
For this evening only, you’ll find delectable eats, wine, and beer from Carolina Brewing Company. Come and enjoy this magical night with live music on the Great Lawn and fire pits with marshmallows to roast. The evening’s entertainment is The Antique Hearts. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a cup of hot apple cider during this unique fund-raising event.
Friends of the Gregg members are able to purchase tickets for this event at the Friends of the Arboretum member price: $35 for preview night, $10 for all other nights.
Advance tickets are required. No tickets will be sold at the gate for this preview evening. Tickets will be limited to reduce the crowd and enhance your experience. Members may purchase tickets for themselves and their guests. This will be the only evening where beer and wine will be served.
Be sure to check out the complete Moonlight in the Garden details. Each crisp November evening is perfectly paired with live music, food trucks (Thursday through Saturday only), fire pits, and marshmallows.
