This exhibition – features art from, among many others, John Cage, Merce Cunningham, and Sally Mann.
Works shown include Cage’s “STEPS” (featured image), an interdisciplinary work blending music, dance and painting, and smoke paintings made at the workshop. Howard Finster’s “dementions” are on display, as well as Jiro Okura’s Mountain Lake Tachi, a series of gilded screens made from trees taken from the local Virginia woods. Don’t miss your chance to see some truly groundbreaking work created at The Mountain Lake workshops, held in southern Virginia.
The Gregg Museum will be open regular hours the rest of this week, and next week Wednesday through Sunday. We are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
